Scope of Work
An employee in this position is responsible for a large variety of facility maintenance duties throughout the school system. Administrative supervision is exercised over a number of skilled, semi skilled and unskilled workers. Supervisor must exercise independent judgment and initiative in performing assigned duties. Duties require working with the Director of Building Services in determining project requirements. This job reports to the Director of Building Services.
Job Functions
- Supervises and evaluates the performance of maintenance personnel
- Receives, plans, schedules, supervises and participates in the completion of system work orders
- Inspects building and grounds periodically to identify and follow-up maintenance and repair
- needs
- Interacts with outside vendors and contractors
- Maintains detailed records of work orders and inventory
- Keeps inventory and distributes Janitorial supplies
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the Director of Building Services
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Considerable knowledge of building and grounds within the school district
- Ability to estimate manpower and material requirements for individual projects
- Ability to work from blueprints and specifications
- Skill at analyzing problems and arriving at a reasonable and economical solution
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Critical thinking skills
- Time management skills
- Strong Computer Skills
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or its equivalent
- Experience in school plant operations preferred
