Job Summary:

The Head Middle School Cheer Coach is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the cheerleading program, including instruction, supervision, and organization. The coach will promote school spirit while developing student-athletes’ skills, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship in a safe and positive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, and lead all cheer practices, performances, and game-day activities
• Teach cheer fundamentals including motions, jumps, stunts, tumbling, and routines
• Choreograph and prepare routines for games, pep rallies, and special events
• Ensure the safety of all participants by following proper stunt progression and safety guidelines
• Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, and travel
• Promote good sportsmanship, teamwork, and positive behavior
• Organize and conduct tryouts for team selection
• Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, school staff, and administration
• Maintain and manage uniforms, equipment, and program inventory
• Coordinate schedules, transportation, and event logistics with the athletic department
• Enforce school, district, and athletic policies and procedures
